My Blue Heaven
This weeks post is about Gene Austin's song My Blue Heaven. When I listened to this song it had a very peaceful tone to it also I like the classic sound of the piano in the background while Austin sings, and that Austin sings with a great voice that fits the song perfectly. Another thing that I got out of it is that the person is living in heaven with his family with the lyrics of "Just Molly and me and baby makes three." Also the setting he creates with the fireplace in a cozy room or how he talks about birds coming back to their families in the nests at the end of the day. In addition to the peaceful tone the song feels very laid back. And talks about a man's blue heaven, and how it could be anything that anyone loves.

I agree with you on this song. It does have a wonderfully peaceful feel to it and it has a very endearing subject matter that warms the heart of the listener. It is so interesting how popular this song was. It was number one on the charts for over a year in the heart of the great depression. I guess when people got home they didn't want another reminder of the tough times they were in. Instead, they wanted to be distracted. They wanted to dream of a blue heaven where everything was okay and their worries no longer existed.
