Respect

This week I listened to Aretha Franklin's song named respect. Franklin is one of the best singers of soul music of all time, rightfully earning the name 'The Queen Of Soul". The song respect has a uplifting appeal to it and defiently is a soul music song. The meaning of the song to me is that there is a woman doing everything for the man she loves, but the man disrespects her, and all she wants is the title of the song which is resepct. I like the mixture of instruements throughout the song including the trumpet, and the mixture of the drums makes the sound perfect. But my favortie part of the song is when franklin spells out Respect by each letter getting the point across that all women deserve respect in the world, and that can defitnley be applied to todays world.

Eleanor Rigby

Eleanor Riby is easily one of my favorite Beatles songs becasue of the fact that I grew up listening to the Beatles all the time. I like the beginning of the song as it is very unique, and even throughout the songs with all the other instrumetns that are played. The songs main purpose is too show all the lonley people but also to show how lonley and sad Eleanor Rigby is, and how she died lonley. Overall the Beatles are easily one of the best bands of all time with many hits along the way like Help, Yesterday, I feel fine, and many more they defintely paved the way for many new artist we hear today, and in addition the way they sang, and how it meshed so perfectly together is fascinating. They forever go down as one of the best band ever, and thier music will be played for generations.

La Bamba

La Bamba is easily one of my favorite Rock N' Roll songs ever. Even though the song is in a different langauge I like it a lot. When I translated this song it means to do a dance called The Bamba and to do it with grace but also to do it and have fun. I love the guitar at the beginning flowed by different instruments that make the song light up, and gets any crowd moving. The song has a upbeat flair to it that gets the listener moving to the song. Ritchie Valens was a star of his time, and was a talented musician at such a young age but sadly passed away in the tragic event "The day that music died." Richie Valens will be remembered as one of the greatest Rock N'Roll artisit, and today's artist use his music as inspration for their own music, and Valens will defiently not be forgotten as his music will be listened to for generations.

Hey, Good Lookin"

While listening to this song by Hank Williams. It definitley has the country feel to it as it's a country song. This song leads to a lot of country songs today of meeting a cute girl, and taking her in a pick up truck or in the case of Hank Williams his hot rod ford, and a two dollar bill. Also in every country song the man knows a spot in the middle of knowhere where they can dance, enjoy some drinks, and get on with it. Hank Williams was a star in country music, and definitley opended it up to the stars of today that look at his music for help, and guidance when making their own songs. Overall I like this song a lot. It has the great classic country sound, and feel that it makes a great song to enjoy, and listen to. Also I like the guitar played throughout the song as it compliments country music really well.

Taking A Chance On Love

Taking a chance on love is defintely a beautiful song. I like the beginning of the song it sort of feels like a introduction to a classic movie. The lyrics of this song details a younger lover taking a chance on love with the person he or she loves the most. For example the lyrics "I see a rainbow blending now we'll have our happy ending now taking a chance on love." That line means to me is that love, and the good times are here to stay but through the song it shows that the two pepole falling in love is working or it is a person that just went through a break up and is not giving up on love so they are taking another chance on love . I also like the good old time feel the song has as it speaks to the sound, and culture back then. In addition I like the Orchestra in the background playing and I get the feeling that everyone was jamming out to it even though it is a love song. Overall I like this song a lot, and that I had the oppertunity to listen to it.
